Pricing

How much is ceramic coating on the Sunshine Coast?

Our Ultimate Protection package is a full machine correction followed by a pro-grade, high-solids Blask coating. Prices are fixed by vehicle size and include paint correction, panel prep and the coating itself.

Sedan

$1,500

+ GST

4WD

$2,200

+ GST

Paint that is heavily damaged may need extra correction, and we'll quote that after a free inspection. The package carries a 5-year limited warranty: if the coating fails anywhere, we redo that area, as long as the car has had correct, regular maintenance. Afterpay is available.

The cost of doing nothing. Once a clear coat fails, the fix is a respray, and an OK-level respray starts at more than $10,000. Even then the finish often has orange peel, dust nibs and sanding marks. Coating sound paint costs a fraction of that.

New Car Protection

For cars under 12 months old: a one-step correction, coating and interior clean, from $1,300 + GST. See New Car Protection.

Why choose us

Why Sunshine Coast owners choose Isaac

The correction is the job, not an extra

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. If the bonnet already looks hazy under a streetlight, those swirls will still be there after it cures, just shinier. That's why every package includes machine correction first, and why a full job is a long day rather than a quick wipe-on. On our Porsche Cayenne job we used a two-step correction and got about 95% defect removal before a drop of coating went on.

Paint correction included in every coating package.

Fully mobile, without cutting corners

We come to your home or work, so you don't lose a day dropping the car off. Mobile only works if the conditions are controlled, so we need an undercover space like a garage or carport and a tap, and we bring our own power. If it's raining sideways or the car would sit in full Queensland sun, we reschedule instead of rushing a coating that will flash and leave high spots.

Straight answers, even when it costs us a job

If your clear coat is peeling or the paint is badly oxidised, Isaac will tell you a coating isn't worth it, because oxidation always comes back. If a job needs extra correction, you hear that before we start. And you'll get a proper aftercare walkthrough when the job is done, so the coating actually lasts.

Problems we fix

What paint problems do we handle on the Sunshine Coast?

Where your car lives decides what wears its paint out first. These are the problems we see most on jobs across the coast.

Salt build-up near the beach

In beachside streets like Wurtulla, Bokarina and along Oceanic Drive, salt builds up faster than anywhere else on the coast, and that's where we see rust and corrosion start first. A coating makes salt easier to rinse off, and it needs rinsing every week or two.

Sap and tree fallout in leafy suburbs

Buderim is the worst we see for tree damage. Sap, leaves and tree contaminants left on paint for long periods can cause severe, irreversible clear coat damage. One car we saw had been parked under a tree that crusted the roof, bonnet and glass in a white residue.

Bat and bird dropping etching

Flying-fox droppings are acidic and bake on in the afternoon sun. Grey-headed flying-foxes are protected under Queensland and federal law, so the answer is protecting the car, not moving the bats (Sunshine Coast Council).

Swirls and wash marks

Dirty mitts, automatic car washes and dry towels drag grit across the paint and leave swirls that show up under any light. Our Cayenne case study had swirls so deep the finish looked distorted. Machine correction removes them before coating.

Water spots and mineral etching

Tank and bore water leaves minerals behind as it dries, and where water pools and runs down a panel it can etch into the clear coat. Light spots polish out; deeper etching can need careful wet sanding on a small area.

Thin, soft factory paint

Many Japanese cars have very thin clear coat. Isaac sees failing paint on Pajero Sports and Tritons constantly, and estimates an unprotected Japanese economy car's clear coat lasts under five years in open Sunshine Coast sun. Newer cars in general are coming out with weaker paint.

Cars we coat

What types of vehicles do we ceramic coat?

About 60% of our coating jobs are new cars, 20% luxury vehicles and 20% collector cars. Each needs a slightly different approach.

New cars, including Chinese EVs

The best time to coat is early, before wash marks and UV get a head start. Even new cars usually need a light correction first; a 12-month-old Haval we did had already been let down by a dealer detail. New car ceramic coating.

4WDs and utes

Rangers, Raptors, LandCruisers, Pajero Sports and Tritons cop beach sand, salt and boat ramps. They need extra prep on lower panels, door jambs and arches. 4WD and ute ceramic coating.

Prestige and luxury cars

Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and Denza owners want correction done carefully, with clear coat left where it belongs. Prestige and collector car coating.

Collector and weekend cars

Garaged cars still collect swirls from washing and covers. A high-solids coating gives them depth and makes dust easy to clear. Paint correction comes first.

Isaac spent 9 hrs on my car and gave back to me better than the Dealers handover. I would never get Dealers ever to Coat any car. Any new car buyer I full recommend Isaac's Car Detailing.

Isaac did an amazing job on my ranger raptor, very easy to work with from start to finish, and very happy with the ceramic coating done, he even did the door jambs and interior. Gave me instructions to look after car going forward.

Car came up looking great! Spent the time to explain how to care for the coating afterwards and how to wash it going forward. Would 100% recommend.

About

Meet Isaac

Isaac Bilokin has been detailing for five years and running his own business for four. He's Blask certified and has coated more than 100 vehicles, from brand-new EVs to Porsches and collector cars.

He does every job himself, which is why you'll get the same care on the door jambs and seals as on the bonnet. His view on coatings is refreshingly plain: the correction underneath matters more than the brand on the bottle, and a coating only lasts if it's maintained.

FAQ

Ceramic coating questions, answered

How much does ceramic coating cost on the Sunshine Coast?

Our Ultimate Protection package is $1,500 + GST for a sedan, $1,800 + GST for an SUV and $2,200 + GST for a 4WD, with paint correction included. Paint that is heavily damaged may need extra correction, which we quote after a free inspection.

Do you come to me?

Yes. We are fully mobile from Caloundra to Noosa. We need a garage or carport and access to a tap, and we bring our own power.

How long does a ceramic coating take?

A full correction and coating is usually a full day. Our Porsche Cayenne job ran from 8am to 6pm, and a 12-month-old Haval with a poor dealer coating took nine hours.

When can I wash my car after it is coated?

It can get wet after 24 hours. Wait two weeks before the first wash so the coating can fully cure.

Does ceramic coating remove scratches or stop stone chips?

No. Swirls and scratches are polished out before the coating goes on, and a coating does not stop stone chips. It makes the paint far easier to clean and slows down UV, salt, sap and dropping damage.

Is a dealer coating the same as a professional ceramic coating?

Usually not. Dealer paint protection is rarely applied over corrected paint. We regularly correct and recoat cars that were sold with a dealer product.

Can I pay with Afterpay?

Yes. We send you an invoice, and you pay it through Afterpay by logging in to your Afterpay account and authorising the payment. Afterpay approval and limits apply.

Will you coat any car?

No. If the clear coat is peeling or the paint is badly oxidised, we will tell you a coating is not worth it. Coating cannot save failed paint, and oxidation always comes back.
