Who does the work

Isaac Bilokin has been detailing for five years and has run his own business for four. He became Blask certified after training in proper polishing technique and correct coating removal, and he has ceramic coated more than 100 vehicles. About 60% were new cars, 20% luxury vehicles and 20% collector cars.

He does every job himself. There's no crew and no hand-off, which is why the door jambs, seals and trim get the same attention as the bonnet.

What Isaac believes about coatings

• The correction matters more than the coating. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it.
• Professional coatings are more alike than brands admit. Solids content matters most. Higher-solids coatings build a thicker, more durable layer.
• Warranties are framed the wrong way. Isaac doesn't love coating warranties, because they make coatings sound like insurance. His is simple: if the coating fails anywhere, he redoes it, as long as it has been correctly and regularly maintained. An unmaintained coating clogs up and stops working, warranty or not.
• Some cars shouldn't be coated. If the clear coat is peeling or the paint is badly oxidised, he'll say so. Oxidation always comes back.

How we work

We're based in Currimundi and fully mobile from Caloundra to Noosa. For coating jobs we need an undercover space such as a garage or carport and access to a tap; we bring our own power. If conditions would compromise the result, like full sun or rain on fresh coating, we reschedule rather than rush.
